COMMITTEE TRIPS TO MEETINGS OF THE INCUMBENT PRESIDENCY OF THE EUROPEAN UNION

These are sectorial Committee meetings hosted by the country which holds the rotating Presidency of the European Union. There are usually six meetings per semester and they take place at the hosting country. The matters dealt with at the meeting vary considerably depending on the prevailing circumstances and, mainly, on the programme and the political agenda of the EU. The Chairperson of the relevant Committee participates in the meeting.

OTHER COMMITTEE TRIPS

The goals of these trips are very heterogeneous and the Bureau of the Congress of Deputies is to take a decision in each case, always bearing in mind a series of guidelines: background, periodicity, attending countries, matters sensitive for Spanish interests, indications by the Spanish Embassy at the hosting country or indications by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. Such external consultations or indications are subject to the independent decision of the Chamber and its steering body.
